Q. What is my Bb username?
A.
Your Bb username is the same as your E-mail username. For example,
if your email is
JohnDoe@ololcollege.edu, your Bb username will be johndoe (all
lower case, no spaces). Leave out the @ololcollege.edu part.
Q. What is
my Bb password?
A.
Your
default Bb password is your username – all lower case, no spaces. If you
have attended OLOLC for more than two years consecutively, your password
may be last 4-digits of your SSN. If neither of these work for you,
please
see
answer to “I have forgotten my BB password – can I have it reset?”
Q. How do I
change my Bb password?
A.
Once you have logged in to Bb,
you may change your
password at any time by clicking the “Personal Information” option under
the “Tools” menu on the left side of the screen.
Q. I have
forgotten my Bb password -- can I have it reset?
A.
Yes –
click on the “Forgot Your Password” link at the bottom of the Blackboard
login page. On the next page, you can use either Option 1 or Option 2.
For Option 2 provide your College email id for Email. Click Submit.
Notification will be sent to your College email account along with
instructions to reset your password. You no longer have to come in
person to change your password.
Q. I am a
new student and I have just registered for classes (paid my fees) --
when will my Bb account be set up?
A.
For new students
(freshman and transfer students) who have registered/paid and are
starting at OLOLC, your Bb account will be created 3 weeks prior to the
start of the new semester for which you have registered. You will be
able to access your Bb account at that time. A letter with your account
information will be mailed to your home address we have on file with the
College. You may also stop by the Administration Building to obtain your
login information.
Q. I have
just made changes to my schedule (add/drop) -- when will these changes
appear on my Bb?
A. If you made your
changes before 4:00pm, then you changes will appear in your Bb the next
day. If you made your changes after 4:00pm, your changes will appear in
2 days.
Problems
Logging in From Home
Note: We guarantee
that you will be able to access Bb on campus but we cannot
guarantee that you will have access at home. This is due to the fact
that it is very difficult for us to diagnose problems with your home
computer through telephone or e-mail. However, we are able to offer you
some solutions for common problems with Bb access on home computers.
If none of the following help, please contact your Internet Service
Provider for assistance.
Problem - The error "Empty
Results Set" appears when I try to log in.
Solution - This error
is caused when your computer is not set to accept cookies. To accept
cookies in Internet Explorer, look in Tools -> Internet Options ->
Privacy Tab. The privacy must be set to "Medium" or lower in order for
Bb to work.
Problem -
The error
"An Error Occurred in the Authentication Module" appears when I try to
log in.
Solution -
This error is caused when
your computer is not set to accept cookies. To accept cookies in
Internet Explorer, look in Tools -> Internet Options -> Privacy Tab. The
privacy must be set to "Medium" or lower in order for Bb to work.
Problem - The
error "No authentication credentials were provided with the request"
appears when I try to log in.
Solution - This error
is caused when your computer is not set to execute scripts. To activate
scripts in Internet Explorer, look in Tools -> Internet Options ->
Security Tab. Now, click on the "Internet" zone icon (the globe) at the
top of the screen. Next, click on the "Custom Level" button at the
bottom of the screen. Scroll down the page until you find the
"Scripting" section and be sure "Active Scripting" is enabled.
Problem - The error
"Challenge Token Null" appears when I try to log in.
Solution - This is
usually caused by bookmarking the logon page instead of the Blackboard
entry page. You need to start your blackboard session at
http://blackboard.ololcollege.edu and click the "Login" button
on that page. When you do that, Blackboard then opens the logon screen
and begins what is called a "session" that will permit you to log in
without the "Challenge Token Null" error.
Problems
Within a Bb Course
All problems within a Bb
course (such as locating course materials) need to be directed to your
instructor. Each instructor posts their course information differently,
so only they can assist you with this matter. If you are not sure about
the problem you are having, feel free to write the
Blackboard administrator for assistance.
