LPN-RN Articulation Program

Our Lady of the Lake College LPN RN Articulation Program offers Licensed Practical Nurses with previously acquired nursing knowledge and skill the opportunity to achieve an Associate of Science Degree in Nursing through advanced placement. Graduates are eligible to write the National Council Licensure Examination for Registered Nurses (NCLEX-RN).

CURRICULUM

The LPN RN Program begins with admission into the LPN RN Program and enrollment in the Articulation Course ( NURS 112 LPN RN Transition), a seven credit course offered in the Fall and Spring semesters. Upon successful completion, students will then articulate to the last two semesters of the Associate Degree Program (full-time).

ADMISSION

Applicants to the LPN RN Articulation Program must meet the following minimum admission criteria:

Accepted for full admission status to OLOL College
Good academic standing at OLOL College
Preference will be given to OLOL College students
Current LPN licensure at time of application and admission
Successful completion of the following required arts and sciences courses with a grade of “C” or better:

Academic Seminar (ACSM 100)

English Composition I (ENGLl 101)

College Algebra (MATH 112)

Introduction to Chemistry (CHEM 100)

Human Anatomy and Physiology I (BIOL 210)

Human Anatomy and Physiology II (BIOL 211)

Fundamentals of Human Nutrition (BIOL 235)

Fundamentals of Microbiology (BIOL 280)

Introductory Psychology (PSYC 100)

Psychology Across the Life Span (PSYC 230)

Earned a grade point average (GPA) of 2.75 or higher on arts and sciences courses in the nursing curriculum.

Additional examination requirements exist for admission to this program. All interested LPNs are advised to meet with the LPN RN Program advisor after admission to the college has been granted.

Our Lady of the Lake College welcomes applications from all qualified individuals. All transcripts are reviewed on an individual basis, according to college policy in order to determine eligibility and placement in the program. ENROLLMENT

Upon admission to the Division of Nursing, LPNs take Nursing 112, LPN RN Transition. This is followed by two semesters of the Associate Degree in Nursing Program and graduation.

The Our Lady of the Lake College Student Financial Aid Office is available to all applicants to discuss eligibility for financial assistance. Please call (225) 768-1714 to schedule an appointment.

Applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center also offers tuition reimbursement to qualifying employees.
