Phlebotomy Training Program

Most areas of medicine rely on diagnostic testing often on blood.  Phlebotomists collect the blood necessary for testing; allowing the healthcare provider to make informed decisions.  Skilled phlebotomists can find hidden veins, introduce a needle into the vein, and extract blood with little or no discomfort to the patient.  Our Lady of the Lake College’s Phlebotomy Training Program, offered through the Health Career Institute, prepares the student for employment in agencies where there is a need to obtain blood specimens.
