Radiologic
Technology Program
IImaging plays a vital
role in the accurate diagnosis and treatment of many conditions.
Radiologic Technologists assist radiologists and other physicians in
imaging the body through ionizing radiation and other forms of energy,
operate specialized radiographic equipment, and manipulate patient
positions. Our Lady of the Lake College’s program provides students
with the background, technological knowledge and procedural instruction
necessary to enter the field with proficiency. The Radiologic
Technology Program is accredited by the Joint Review Committee on
Education in Radiologic Technology* and holds full approval from the
Louisiana State Radiologic Technology Board of Examiners.

CURRICULUM
The
Associate of Science Degree in Radiologic Technology Program consists of
75 credit hours (23 arts and sciences hours; 52 radiology hours.)
Graduates are eligible to write the national certification examination
administered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).
ADMISSION
Applicants for admission to the program must initially meet the
admission criteria for entrance to the College. Admission to the
program is a selective process and applications are holistically
evaluated using a broad range of considerations including the
applicant’s record of academic success, understanding of the profession,
and ability to contribute to the College and program’s unique and
diverse learning environment. Applicants are encouraged to review the
College admission guidelines established for evaluation of applications
for selective admission programs outlined in the Catalog.
Applicants’ likelihood of admission increases
based on the following:

to complete all arts and sciences core courses listed in the
curriculum prior to the admissions decision deadline

Minimum grade of “C” in high school algebra, biology, chemistry,
and physics (or college equivalents)
×
Minimum of 2.5 cumulative high school GPA
×
Minimum of 2.5 cumulative average in core courses
×
Minimum of 2.5 average in Science core courses

Completion of a
minimum of at least 7 semester credit hours of core courses at OLOL
College
-
Competitive ACT scores
-
Documented completion of 50 volunteer service
hours in the radiology department of a hospital and/or work
experience in a radiology department of a hospital, clinic or
imaging center (form provided in application packet);

Capability to contribute to a diverse learning
community and perseverance in overcoming challenges to achieve goals

Attend the information session sponsored by
the program

Completion of a short written narrative or
interview (decided by Admissions Committee)

Minimum age of 18 at time of enrollment
Our
Lady of the Lake College welcomes applications from all qualified
individuals. All transcripts are reviewed on an individual basis,
according to College policy, in order to determine eligibility and
placement in the program. Equal educational opportunities are

ENROLLMENT
Applications
to the Radiologic Technology Program are due on or before March 15 for
the class beginning in August. At this time, an entering class of

FINANCIAL
AID
The
Our Lady of the Lake College
Student
Financial Aid Office is available to all applicants to discuss
eligibility for financial assistance. Please call (225) 768-1714
to schedule an appointment.
Applicants
are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid
(FAFSA) form. Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical center also
offers tuition reimbursement to qualifying employees.
