Dietetic Internship Curriculum

Supervised practice experiences are integrated with online graduate coursework in a full-time, 17 month curriculum for interns to obtain a MSNS degree. The curriculum follows the University’s academic calendar adhering to all semester breaks and observed holidays. Interns receive twelve credit hours for completion of 1524 hours of supervised practice in the dietetic internship as well as 24 credit hours in graduate coursework, totaling 36 credit hours. Interns must successfully complete this ACEND accredited dietetic internship and the MSNS degree to graduate and receive a verification statement. A verification statement is required for interns to apply for and take the Commission on Dietetic Registration’s credentialing exam for dietitian nutritionists. Completion of the MSNS is required, even if an intern has already earned a master’s degree.
