  • Identify academic and professional goals.

  • Research the applicable degree requirements as outlined in the Our Lady of the Lake College Catalog.

  • Ask questions to clarify area of uncertainty.

  • Keep records of progress toward degree requirements.

  • Provide the College with official transcripts of coursework taken at other institutions.

  • The responsibility for fulfilling degree requirements rests with the student, not the advisor

Faculty Advisor

  • Assists the student in preparing a plan of study that will fulfill the degree requirements and academic goals.

  • Reviews progress made toward meeting degree requirements and academic goals.

  • Reviews grade point average and academic performance.

  • Refers the student to various resources on campus, depending on circumstances.

  • Makes students aware of their  responsibilities and encourages them.

  • Maintains up to date files containing each student's appropriate records
