Our Lady of the Lake College welcomes New Dean of Students

Dr. Alison Wells recently joined Our Lady of the Lake College as Dean of Students. Before coming to Our Lady of the Lake College, she served as Assistant Dean within the Dean of Students Office at The University of Houston (UH) from 2009-2015. Previously she served as Director of Student Activities and First Year Experiences at Houston Baptist University as well as an Activities Advisor at UH. Dr. Wells also served as an adjunct faculty member for the online Masters in Higher Education Program at the UH.

She brings to OLOL College over 11 years in higher education administration across a variety of disciplines including campus activities, Greek life, student conduct, commuter student services, parent and family programs, campus traditions, and first year programs.

Dr. Wells will be responsible for supporting the mission of the College by creating and maintaining a safe, healthy, and supportive environment and culture that synthesizes the spiritual, intellectual, physical, social, and emotional development of our students in a holistic way.

Most recently Dr. Wells was the recipient of the UH Division of Student Affair’s “Outstanding Professional of Excellence” award and has also received national recognition from The American College Personnel Association (ACPA) receiving awards for her work with commuter students as well as her doctoral research for her dissertation titled, “The Asian American College Experience at a Diverse Institution: Campus Climate as a Predictor of Sense of Belonging.”

Dr. Wells received her Ed.D. from the University of Houston, M.Ed. from Texas State University, and B.S. from Louisiana State University. She and her husband, Caleb, recently moved to Baton Rouge from Texas, and are excited to become members of both the OLOL family and the Baton Rouge community.

Our Lady of the Lake College Welcomes New Vice President for Institutional Advancement

Judith V. Roberson recently joined Our Lady of the Lake College (OLOL College) as Vice President for Institutional Advancement.  Her 28-year career in higher education has included transformational work for the University of New Orleans and the LSU School of Veterinary Medicine, where she played a leadership role in creating a comprehensive advancement program and grew relationships with new and existing donors through a grateful client program. 

Roberson brings to OLOL College a career of increasing professional responsibility and outstanding experience.  Other institutions where she has held leadership roles include Louisiana State University, University of Louisiana at Lafayette, Sallie Mae, Nellie Mae and Stamats Higher Education Marketing.    Her responsibility as Vice President for Institutional Advancement at Our Lady of the Lake College is to establish a high-performing institutional advancement office and to develop philanthropic support for the strategic and master campus plan of the College.  Through collaboration with alumni and friends, the current campus will be transformed into a state-of-the-art “academic village” featuring healthcare education facilities.

Roberson holds a BS in Management from the University of Louisiana at Lafayette and a MA in Agency Counseling from Louisiana State University and A & M College.  She is a member of the Association of Fundraising Professionals (AFP) and the Council for the Advancement and Support of Education, and serves on the Baton Rouge AFP National Philanthropy Day Committee.

Roberson attends St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church in Prairieville, Louisiana.  She is married to Kenneth and has one son, Kendrick, who attends Southeastern Louisiana University.

Welcomes New Director of Campus Ministry

Baton Rouge, LA – Tammy Vidrine recently joined Our Lady of the Lake College as the Director of Campus Ministry.  Vidrine will be responsible for organizing a program of religious and spiritual outreach to the college community -- students, faculty, administration, trustees and staff.  In addition, she will be reaching out to and forming ongoing relationships with the greater community including, but not limited to the Diocese of Baton Rouge, the College’s many community partner organizations throughout the greater Baton Rouge area, the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady, and the family of services throughout the Franciscan Missionaries of Our Lady Health System.

Before joining Our Lady of the Lake College, Vidrine served as Certification Coordinator for the Diocese of Baton Rouge where she assisted in the development of online theology courses for basic certification and a methodology course for Catholic Sexual Morality for the Diocese of Baton Rouge. For thirteen years, she served as Youth Ministry Coordinator for three levels of youth ministry at Holy Rosary Parish in St. Amant, Louisiana, was also a member of Parish Council and taught Religious Education classes for the parish for fifteen years. She is a lector, retreat facilitator, and motivational speaker for ministries in the parish.  She is the recipient of the Ascension Parish Volunteer of the Year award for her work in education and youth.
