ADAAA Definition of Disability
The Americans with Disabilities act (ADA) and the Americans with Disabilities Act Amendment Act (ADAAA) has a three-part definition of disability.  Under ADA, an individual with a disability is a person who:  (1) has a physical or mental impairment that substantially limits one or more major life activities; or (2) has a record of such impairment; or (3) is regarded as having such an impairment.

Reasonable Accommodations will be made for qualified students with disabilities. Accommodations that are not classified as reasonable are as follows: (1)  Any accommodation that poses a direct threat to the health and safety of others; (2) Any accommodation that makes a substantial change in an essential element of the curriculum or a substantial change in the way you provide your services; (3) Any accommodation that imposes an undue financial or administrative burden on the College.  Accommodation(s) requests can be made by contacting the Office of Student Services at 225-490-1620 and scheduling an appointment with the Academic Counselor.
