Patient Services Coordinator/Administrative Medical Assistant

CURRICULUM

 

The Patient Services Coordinator/Administrative Medical Assistant is an 14-week certificate program offered three times a year.  This program prepares students to work in hospitals, clinics, home health agencies, nursing homes and rehabilitations centers where basic administrative medical office procedures are required.  Our students are trained to work with medical records, billing, coding, insurance claims and other front office procedures.

 

ADMISSION

 

All applicants must provide the following for admission to the Patient Services Coordinator Program:

 

  • Complete application with $10.00 application fee

 

  • High School transcript or GED (General Education Development) equivalent

 

  • Complete letter of application describing the students unique attributes and reasons for seeking this educational program

 

  • Proof of immunization for measles, mumps, rubella and tetanus/diphtheria, as described in Our Lady of the Lake College’s Immunization Policy

 

ENROLLMENT

 

Applications are due on or before April 1 for the summer class, July 1 for the fall class, and November 1 for the spring class - apply early space is limited.  Please call (225) 768-1700 for application information.

 

Our Lady of the Lake College welcomes applications from all qualified individuals.  All transcripts are reviewed on an individual basis, according to College policy, in order to determine eligibility and placement in the program.  Equal educational opportunities are offered to all who meet entrance requirements, without regard to race, gender, ethnicity, creed, martial status or age.

 

FINANCIAL AID

The Our Lady of the Lake College Student Financial Aid Office is available to all applicants to discuss eligibility for financial assistance.  Please call (225) 768-1714 to schedule. 

Applicants are encouraged to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) form. All Health Career Institute programs are approved for TOPS awards.  Our Lady of the Lake Regional Medical Center also offers generous tuition reimbursement to qualifying employees.
